Breaking the Bias: International Women's Day 2022
Almost three in four women experience bias at work, and those who do are more likely to leave their jobs. And women of color, LGBTQ+ women, and women with disabilities face more acute biases. Yet only one in three employees, including managers, challenges biased behavior when they see it. – Lean In 2022
Deliberate or unconscious, bias makes it impossible for women to thrive in the workplace. Bias includes limiting beliefs that men AND women may have about women. Yet women make up almost half of the global workforce. Not only is this divide disadvantaging women, but it is also handicapping the entire industry.
To fight this inequity, we need to understand and address bias in all its forms. When women leave a job, disengage, or leave the workforce we lose the ability to help change the status quo.
We as individuals can commit to education and action. We as corporations can commit to addressing systemic issues to help finally break the bias.
Join us in a conversation about practical ways we can uncover and bridge inequities caused by bias against women in the workplace.
